MUSINGS: Conversations with Chris...
My care for technology is depleting. I like my inspirations as a philosophical architect of the subconscious through classical media and message. My artistic and spiritual endeavors into the historical age of beauty and wisdom is reaching its pinnacle. I despise these tools of the contemporary that cripple our intelligence through handicap in order to create a connection. We use less of our...

MUSINGS: This means something.
This post came to me as I sprayed a pile of shaving creme into my hand in the shower. I turned 40 in August and as I look back, I realized how certain things carve the way we are. I whispered to myself “This means something” as I formed the shaving creme into a version of Devils Tower before smearing it on my face and head to shave. It struck me as funny, realizing the weird things...

Kevin Smith: Words of wisdom for writers.
Writer/Filmmaker Kevin Smith is a Twitter behemoth with over 1.7 million followers. A fellow writer one @amydezellar, wrote to Smith and asked “I need a locker-room style pep talk about continuing to write.”
Smith, not one for the character limit of Twitter, went on a multi-tweet “Smonologue” on the power and the importance of the writer. Here is his response in full:
Writing is the closest...

MUSINGS: Creatively Persist...
A few months ago, Pixar animator Austin Madison hand-wrote the following open letter to aspiring artists. It’s a touching and heart-warming read, and contains advice valuable to people in ANY creative field. It was a contribution to the Animator Letters Project, an admirable effort to collate letters of advice for would-be animators, written by those who have managed to break into the...

MUSINGS: A terrible waste of space.
“You’re an interesting species; an interesting mix. Capable of such exquisite dreams; such horrifying nightmares.”
I have always loved the book and the movie “Contact”. I know that it did not really do well in theatres, but it touched me and maybe others too. I have always loved Science Fiction and I believe that it opens the minds and hearts of many. I just...

MUSINGS: Found this attached to a "Downloaded"...
I thought instead of the usual ASCII-inspired artwork you normally get with these files, I thought I’d share my view on CD/DVD piracy with those who have downloaded this file. Surprisingly, I don’t condone media piracy in any way. If artists have made something that is enjoyable to others they should be paid for it, and the large CD/DVD collection which I have legitimately purchased...

Interview: Here, there be Dragons!
Every year Nuance the creators of Dragon NaturallySpeaking software does a contest. The contest is called “Do you speak Dragon?” where Nuance invites Dragon users to tell them how we rely on the Dragon Speech Recognition family of software. I enter the contest each year, and I never win any of the prizes, or so I thought. A few months ago I was contacted by Brad Cook, a writer/editor for...

Towel Day 2011: Douglas Adams, King of the Hoopy...
“A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value - you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly...
