MUSINGS: Zuckerberg can suck it.

Facebook Meh

I get a great deal of flack over not using Facebook or having a Facebook account. It really is shocking the amount of shitstorm it has created actually. I began a year ago deleting photos, posts, comments, and such but finally completely cancelled and shut down everything four months ago.

I still get shocked emails, pissed tweets, and mean-spirited comments about it. Ranging from “Why did you leave?”, “What is wrong with Facebook?”, “You MUST have a Facebook account.” and my favorite “Do you think you are better than Facebook?

Actually… YES

I do think I am better than being forced to use or keep a security issue cesspool of a social website. One that is built FIRMLY on gossip, drama, spying, and mindless fluff of friends, neighbors  loved-ones, and coworkers. Most of such fluff that is really none of SOME of their business to begin with. I constantly hear the comment from folks, “I have too many friends and family on FB to get away with leaving it, but I wish I could.” or “It makes communicating with everyone so much easier. As well as setting up events, parties, business, and get-togethers.

I understand and totally know where you are coming from… I get that… I feel you… I actually do.

BUT…

If someone is a TRUE friend, family, loved-one, co-worker, super-ape, insect overlord, etc… they don’t need a FUCKING website to be one. If they do… well, you might want to re-evaluate that hairless ape. LOL. ;)

For a very very long time we humans survived just fine with something called MAIL… and eventually a wondrous magically-mystic thing came along called a PHONE

Guess what… I am almost 100% sure most folks have at least one of them.

Share & Enjoy.
